You are probably sick of hearing the word ‘engagement’ and not in terms of two people tying the knot…LOL
In the world of social media, the term engagement is put up on a pedestal as the holy grail of what you need to achieve.
A simple Google Search for this (how to get engagement on social media?) bought up 699 million results.
Wowser!!
When you measure engagement on social media, it looks at likes, shares and comments. You can get all these insights by looking at any post and seeing those magic numbers.
Measuring social media engagement provides you with insights into how well your content is resonating with your customers. You can use this information to optimise posts in the future or improve your products and services. It also gives you a tangible metric to track your performance over time.
But here’s a tip.
Engagement is simply starting a conversation.
You don’t need to be overwhelmed or scared of it.
And engagement doesn’t need to be done on social media. Engagement can happen it many ways.
You can start a conversation online and offline. It is not limited to Facebook baby!
Simply being human is a good starting point.
- A compliment
- A hello or thank you message
- Asking how you can help solve a problem for someone
These are touchpoints that whilst, not technically classified as marketing, they are starting conversation and engaging with potential clients.
